JASON C. WARD, producer/director
FAA licensed drone pilot
Jason oversees all facets of production, including our new aerial cinematography team. His recent work includes producing films for New York State Parks, LaGuardia Group, landscape design, and Summit Senior Living, housing communities. Jason is also the CEO and founder of CFP's sister distribution company Candy Factory Films, a forward-thinking, filmmaker-friendly multimedia company which, since 2007, has been dedicated to producing and distributing unique and high-impact films such as The Midnight Swim, Being Canadian, 2016 Tribeca Film Fest Award-Winner Children of the Mountain, and 2017 NY Times Critics’ Pick Saving Banksy.
CAREY RUSSELL, director/cinematographer
FAA licensed drone pilot
Carey is an internationally recognized filmmaker and photographer, and frequent collaborator with director Terrance Malick. He was an associate producer and editor on Malick's, The New World, assisted cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki on The Tree of Life, and provided additional photography for the feature-length edition of The Voyage of Time. His recent work includes the 10-part documentary web-series, Tibetan Stories. Carey has directed projects for clients: The International Center for Mental Health and Human Rights, Nest, Ashoka, University of Texas School of Law, Virtus Wind Energy, Copenhagen Fashion Summit and the C&A Foundation.
HEATHER WARD, executive producer
Heather has over twenty years of global budgeting and strategic planning experience working at SI Group, Inc., a global chemical company headquartered in Schenectady, New York with more than 20 manufacturing locations in 12 countries. She currently serves as Chairman of the Wright Family Foundation, is a member of the board of trustees of the Charles R. Wood Foundation, and a board member of the Saratoga Hospital and Proctor’s Theatre.
JAMES HIRSCH, creative director
James began his career in New York at BBC, where he produced behind-the-scenes extras. After writing the liner notes for Ricky Gervais’s “The Office” DVD, he was invited to work at BBC headquarters in London. Subsequently, James worked as Creative Director at HBO Home Entertainment, where he oversaw the production, design and marketing of several of HBO’s top brands, then went on to immerse himself in the indie film world, working with Cinedigm, SnagFilms, and Indiewire before teaming up with Candy Factory in 2015.
NICK MANNING, associate producer
Nick began his career at Candy Factory Films in 2015, directly after receiving his degree from Hofstra University. He climbed the ranks from intern to assistant to now being a project manager on the distribution side of the business where he oversees all ongoing projects, including acquisitions, film delivery and filmmaker relations. Nick works hard to elevate the brand in any way possible, while in the field, acts as an assistant camera operator and producer.
